About Us

The MidAtlantic Book Publishers Association is a community of independent publishers located in the Mid-Atlantic area. We welcome all independent and self-publishers in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.

The MidAtlantic Publishers Association (MPA), founded in 1994, was reorganized and revitalized in 2004 as the
MidAtlantic Book Publishers Association (MBPA). We’re a regional affiliate of the Independent Book Publishers Association (PMA/IBMA) and the Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN). MBPA is governed by a voluntary board of directors, and is maintained by active member volunteers. We are committed to “turning the tide for publishers” by advancing the image and supporting the success of independent publishers in an increasingly
competitive book publishing environment.
